Summit Oaks Honors Resident Veterans, collects clothing for Minnesota Veterans, serves dinner to 60 in November, AND donates 60 hand-crafted blankets to local nursing home!
You should live at Summit Oaks because you’d be fulfilled with great people, company, comradery, activities and fun. For example, December 5TH – 6PM – we’re providing a complimentary dinner to our residents that will be even more fun with resident goodies, humor and fabulous foods (PS…there’s a raffle drawing). At November’s dinner we fed 60 people… where we saw huge smiles and met many new friends. Two lucky residents won raffle items, too! We plan special outings as we have scheduled in December to the Round Barn followed by a lunch at Carol’s Kitchen. On the 30th, we’ve got our “Noon Year’s Eve” luncheon where we’ll countdown our own special party and welcome in 2017.
On November 10th, we celebrated Veterans Day with our resident Vets, because we have 16 of the BEST living here at Summit Oaks. – we gave our Veterans a most sincere thanks for serving! A homemade card was signed by residents to honor resident veterans. We celebrated Summit Oaks Veterans with homemade cookies and cider and we let them know how much we care about them and love having their presence here every day. In less than 3 days, Summit Oaks residents donated gently used clothing and other items, to benefit the local Minnesota Veterans Home. Donations poured in and toppled over 3 grocery carts and our lobby area! Then Summit Oaks Resident Council and volunteers, crafted 60 blankets that were delivered to a local nursing home. Nice going Summit Oaks volunteers and special thanks for caring about others.
At Summit Oaks we look forward to seeing more new faces and having many guests, friends, colleagues and businesses share in this awesome building.
