A Very Special Mother’s Day at Broadway Village

It was a great evening at Broadway Village as we hosted a Mother’s Day social on Wednesday, May 6, 2026. Our amiable male volunteers graciously helped to prep and serve the delicious meal.

Neil Murray provided musical entertainment, both comedic and sentimental. Each person in attendance was able to share about their own mother, or what it means to them to be a mother.

Community manager Megan Thomas was the first to share a tribute to her mom. shared  "My mother has never considered herself "maternal." She would not say that she nurtures or comforts, she was more of a "rub some dirt in it" than a "kissing owies" type of mom. Rather, my mother chose to prepare me to live without her, by teaching me the skills necessary for independence. If it were not for how my mother raised me, I would not be equipped for the life I lead. I never wondered if my mother loved me, because she was always there for anything I needed."

We appreciate all who helped serve and those special mom’s who were served.
