Donut Day at Broadway Village

On Friday, June 5, many donut shops ran out of old-fashioned donuts as National Donut Day was celebrated. At Broadway Village, however, residents had plenty to enjoy both tasting and decorating thanks to our local Dunkin’ Donuts and Target.

Residents were excited to take part in mini-donut sampling and a donut decorating contest. Choosing the best-decorated donut was not easy, as every participant created something bold, colorful, and beautiful. In the end, Maurice, resident Carrie Dicken’s grandson, earned first place with an outstanding blue design.

A Winning Inspiration

When asked what inspired his design, Maurice shared, “I was inspired by something from every one of the beautiful designs my grandma’s neighbors had made.”
