Plenty of summer fun at Banfill Crossing!
July has been full of community and comradery!
Our community garden beds are doing wonderfully in this heat! We have already shared rhubarb baked goods, and we look forward to all the fantastic vegetables we plan to harvest and cook. We will have plenty of soup, chili and tomato dishes to bring us into the fall.
This month we celebrated the Fourth of July with another great Banfill Crossing Community Party! We had a very successful turnout. Our Resident Council did a great job organizing an evening full of food and fun. We were able to see fireworks from cities all over – including our own. There are always community events going on here in our city, Home - City of Fridley.
Our residents are fantastic of making the most of what Fridley has to offer. Our Lang Nelson Transportation team, Transportation took us to lunch at Carol’s and Olive Garden Carol's Restaurant, Coon Rapids Italian Restaurant | Locations | Olive Garden. We are looking forward to them taking us to the Coon Rapids Damm next week to attend the outdoor concert series.
Banfill Crossing residents have also had a great time with all our regular activities, like cards, crafts, coffee, bible study, book club and all the other daily and weekly events we host. We start every morning sharing coffee and the days news and activities in our Great Room, then on to a luncheon, bingo, grocery shopping and all else we do in a day. We are also getting fit and staying strong every Monday through our collaboration with fox rehab FOX Rehabilitation. They get us started and we keep it going via our on site Wellness Center.
The Fridley Senior Center hosts all kinds of events Senior Program - Community Ed. They have a complete program of social, recreational and educational opportunities for our community members and feature an active Senior Program held at the Fridley Community Center right off of 61st and University Ave NE. We are also good at utilizing our other community resources. Springbrook Nature Center is just around the bend and often has events and activities to enjoy Springbrook Nature Center - City of Fridley
