Banfill Crossing is the place to be!
Looking back on the past month, we really did have a lot of fun! Along with our regularly scheduled daily and weekly calendar events, we had a carnival fundraiser, hosted by our Resident Council. We celebrated St Patrick’s Day with dinner and holiday treats. We even had a visit from Jake, our Lang Nelson Blaine Campus Manager. We heard Jake’s “Owl Talk” was informative, but we had no idea just how much we would learn! Thank you, Jake for sharing your knowledge and pictures with us!!!
Our neighbors have also been busy. The Fridley Senior Center hosts all kinds of events Senior Program - Community Ed. It is a place for seniors to play with their friends, learn a new skill, pursue a favorite hobby, and generally have a good time. They’ve designed the Senior Program with special activities and services intended just for our seniors, including social events, monthly outings, exercise classes, and a whole lot more. Our manager gets there every now and then on Thursdays to call bingo. Banfill residents have a standing invitation to join in on the fun.
We are also good at utilizing our other community resources, Anoka County will be hosting a “Fix it Clinic” on April 4th at 10am. Our residents will be able to bring any small appliances or electronic devices in need of repair for free!! AnokaCountyMN.gov/fixit.
Residents’ luncheon destinations in the coming month will include another Baker’s Square bus trip on Tuesday April 7th. Lang Nelson Transportation will be at our site at 11:30 that day to get us there safely and with a smile to enjoy good food, fun conversations and delicious pie! The following week we will lunch at another neighborhood favorite, Perkins Fridley location on Tuesday April 21tst Perkins at 7520 University Ave NE Fridley, MN | Perkins American Food Co. (free pie 😊).
