Cloverleaf Courts Bids a Fond Farewell to Avail Academy’s 5th Graders
We have enjoyed our ongoing relationship with Avail Academy’s 5th graders for over a decade, partnering residents with students for intergenerational programs every school year. Students visit monthly for games, sneak peaks at musicals and plays, and special presentations like a storybook of the life of the residents they were paired with. Several of these students have kept in touch with our residents as they graduate and go to college! We’ve also enjoyed potlucks and concerts in our parking lot over the years. This month’s visit is their final visit for the school year, and we are sending them off into summer and 6th grade with a full belly at our “Good [Pot]luck!” social. It truly is a special community connection that leaves both residents and students’ hearts full, creating lasting connections for years to come.
Avail Academy started as Calvin Christian Schools in 1956, and grew over the years as more and more community members enrolled their children for a Christian-based education. In 2018, they renamed to Avail Academy, and have branched out to build campuses in Edina, Fridley, and Blaine. With their location so close, on warmer days, the students enjoy walking to our community to visit.
