Cloverleaf Courts School Supply Drive Success!
Every August, we host a school supply drive to help schools in our area have a stockpile of essential supplies on hand for teachers and students who need it most. Cloverleaf Courts stunned our recipients last year with four huge bags full of supplies. This year, we raised so many donations that we expanded the number of schools to donate to. Our residents love giving back to our community and especially answered the call when it came to our local young learners in five elementary schools. Donations were brought to Blaine-area schools, including Madison Elementary, Johnsville Elementary, Avail Academy (who starts up their 5th graders’ monthly intergenerational visits this month), and Jefferson Elementary. At our August Resident Council meeting, one of our residents asked that the school where her daughter teaches – Park Terrace Elementary in nearby Spring Lake Park – be included in the list of schools this year. The residents all voted “aye” to include the school, and even more donations poured in after that mid-month meeting.
Our community of active seniors are always keeping philanthropy in mind, and truly love to give back. Our Cloverleaf Courts Faith Community has given to local, regional, and national charities each quarter through their offerings at weekly services, and recently took up a relief fund to the Maui Food Bank after their recent devastating wildfires. Donations will continue into the fall with our annual Fall Food Drive in November, and all the fundraising and donation drives we have planned for the coming holiday season: Head Start Hat and Mitten tree, Disabled Veterans of America clothing drive, Toys for Tots toy drive, and more.
