Kicking Off Fall at Blaine Courts!
We’ve had a great start to fall, especially now that the weather is cooling off and making us “feel” more autumn-esque. Our friends at Mary Ann Young Center offer amazing programming and resources for our residents and local seniors, and one of those is a Ukelele class. Over the years, the students have formed a band, the Blaine Ukelele Troop, and we were lucky enough to have them perform for our residents, one of whom has a sister in the band! They stayed after to visit, possibly recruit new students, and just get to know our community. It was a very wonderful event all around!

Fall also means football, and we have some die hard Vikings fans here (is there any other kind?), along with some Green Bay, Chicago, and even Denver fans sprinkled in. We kicked off the season with some fun NFL trivia and facts, light tailgate refreshments, and launching our season-long “NFL Pick’em” contest. Each week, residents make their picks of who will win each of the 16 weekly games, and we keep a running tally and publish the weekly winner (bragging rights only), and will crown a champion with the most correct picks at the end of week 18, with the champ winning a $100.00 gift card!
