Bringing in the Holiday Spirit at Summit Oaks

At Summit Oaks we will be celebrating Residents Holiday Appreciation dinner Wednesday, December 3rd with a Ham dinner, games and Prizes. This will be our 4th annual year of participating in the Angel Program at Granny’s Closet. This program helps elderly and disabled adults to get gifts for Christmas. Our residents at Summit Oaks really enjoy buying gifts for this program. On Thursday, December 4th we will have a gift-wrapping party to wrap the gifts boughten for the Angel Program. Our Bus trip to a new Buffet called the Feast will take place Monday, December 15th.Check out our December calendar for more events that will take place here at Summit Oaks and out in the community.
December, being the last month of the year, cannot help but make us think of what is to come. So, Let’s see what December has in store for us out and about! Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025 from 3:30-6 p.m. Countdown to Tree Lighting and Fireworks at 5:30 p.m. Boulevard Plaza, 11002 Crooked Lake Blvd. Join this event for a free community celebration! Enjoy cocoa and cookies, pictures with Santa, live music, fire pits to keep warm and write letters to Santa. Make sure you stay for the countdown to a twinkling light display on the tree and fireworks! Holiday Skate with Rocky Sunday, December 21 from 6:00-7:30 p.m.
Wear your festive sweater and come early to enjoy the Holiday Exhibition by Skating School students at 4:20 p.m. Coon Rapids has its annual Holiday Lighting Contest accepting applications online at www.coonrapidsmn.gov/1444/Holiday-lighting-contest. Check it out Coon Rapids wants the resident to light up the sky with your Holiday light.
