February is a month of Possibilities at Summit Oaks!

February is a month associated with love, kindness, and steady growth. A month with many possibilities and you can see that by looking at Summit Oaks Calendar full of activities, including a way to stay active in these cold months. On Tuesday a gentle workout using chairs and small exercise balls. Perfect for all ages. It strengthens your muscles, improves your balance and boosts your energy all while sitting. Residents enjoy this work out so much that they invite their friends and family to join in. Summit Oaks is hosting a Valentines Party for our residents and their loved ones on Friday February 13^th from 4:30 to 6:30 pm. With food, games and pictures with your loved ones. If interested in joining us all are welcomed, just contact Summit Oaks office to inquire about the Valentines party or any of our activities on the calendar. 

One of the residents’ favorites in the winter is to make a trip to the Minnesota Arboretum. February is their annual Spring Flower Show. Get an early taste of spring with thousands of blooms, including spring bulbs, orchids and topicals, on display throughout the Visitor Center buildings. This year’s show explores the theme of water, drawing inspiration from Minnesota’s lakes, rivers, wetlands and the life they support. To find out more information about the Minnesota Arboretum here is the website with dates, times and cost. https://arb.umn.edu/

February is all loaded with major and Federal holidays like Presidents Day, Valentines Day alongside cultural observances such as Black History Month, Lunar New Year, and Mardi Gras plus fun days like Groundhog Day, National Pizza Day, with many weekly and daily celebrations for food, awareness and fun.
