Cedarwood Spotlights Valued Resident, Tony

Tony was born and grew up in Liberia, Monrovia and is from the Gola Tribe.  He served in the Liberian Army but decided he did not want to fight in the civil war and moved to the Ivory Coast in 1990. A few years later he decided to move the U.S. because his parents and family were here. Tony lived with them in both Georgia and New Jersey before getting notified of a great job opportunity from his cousin in Worthington, MN. He lived there for four years but eventually took a position with UNICEF and worked for the UN with the Peace Keeping Force in Iraq until 1999. These past six years Tony had been working for FedEx in Minnesota but took a new, less physical position with the Data Recognition Corporation on Bass Lake Road in January as a machine operator. He enjoys it! On weekends, Tony embraces his musical side. He often plays keyboards, bass guitar, or drums for churches throughout the Twin Cities. Until the pandemic hit, he would teach Tae Kwon Do to kids as he is a 3rd Degree blackbelt.  Tony said he likes calling Cedarwood his home because of the friendly community and being around some fellow Liberians.  He frequently uses our fitness centers and has been asked if he would teach some of Cedarwoods younger generation Tae Kwon Do. He promises to do so when the time is right!
