A Harmonious Tradition: Calibre Chase Returns to See Sign United (formerly Sweet Adelines) at Como Zoo.

 Music has a special way of bringing people together, and for our residents at Calibre Chase, one of the highlights of summer is our annual outing to see the Sweet Adelines perform at Como Zoo. We are excited to continue this beloved tradition on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at 6:00 PM.

The evening begins with dinner at the always-popular Keys Cafe in St. Paul, where residents can enjoy a delicious meal and good conversation with friends. Following dinner, we will board our Lang Nelson Transportation bus and head to Como Zoo for an unforgettable evening of music and entertainment.

The Sweet Adelines are far more than just a singing group. Sing United (formerly Sweet Adelines International) is a worldwide organization of women singers founded in 1945 and dedicated to preserving and advancing the musical art form of barbershop harmony through education, competition, and performance. Their mission extends beyond music, creating opportunities for women to connect, grow, and enrich communities through the power of song.

This year is especially significant as Sweet Adelines International celebrates its 80th anniversary. During this milestone year, choruses and quartets from Region 6 will continue their tradition of gathering for convention and competition, showcasing the talent, dedication, and passion that have defined the organization for eight decades. Their motto, "Harmonize the World," reflects their commitment to spreading joy, unity, and connection through music.

For our residents, attending the Como Zoo performance has become a cherished annual tradition. The combination of a favorite local restaurant, a scenic outing, and the beautiful harmonies of the Sweet Adelines creates an experience that residents look forward to year after year. The concert offers an opportunity to enjoy live music in a welcoming outdoor setting while celebrating the sense of community that makes these outings so special.
