Uniting for a Cause, Anthony James Apartments, Near Food Shelf, and New Hope Police Celebrate Night to Unite

A Night of Connection and Purpose

Night to Unite, formerly known as National Night Out, is a nationwide initiative that encourages neighborhoods to host block parties, cookouts, and community gatherings to foster relationships with local law enforcement and city officials. In New Hope, the event featured games, music, food, and visits from police and fire personnel, creating a festive and welcoming atmosphere for residents of all ages.

On August 5, 2025, the City of New Hope came together for its annual Night to Unite celebration—an evening dedicated to strengthening community relationships and promoting public safety. This year’s event was especially meaningful thanks to the collaboration between the Anthony James Senior Independent Apartment Community, the Near Food Shelf, the New Hope Police Department, and all working toward a shared vision of relationship building, care, and community resilience.

Anthony James Apartments: Community at the Heart

The Anthony James Senior Independent Apartment Community played a central role in this year’s celebration by hosting apartment tours and offering a special rental promotion during the first week of August. Their involvement brought together seniors, families, and neighbors, showcasing the importance of inclusive housing and community engagement. Residents enjoyed refreshments, live entertainment, and the opportunity to connect with local organizations and city leaders. https://www.langnelson.com/minnesota-apartment-rentals/the-anthony-james-on-broadway.html

Near Food Shelf: Nourishing the Neighborhood: The Near Food Shelf was also on-site, providing information about food assistance programs and collecting donations from our resident who donated 144 pounds of food stuffs, and an abundance of School Supplies, to support families in need. Their presence emphasized the vital role that access to nutritious food plays in building a safe and supportive community. By partnering with Anthony James and the New Hope Police Department, the food shelf helped bridge gaps and offer resources to those who need them most. https://www.nearfoodshelf.org/

New Hope Police Department: Building Trust: The New Hope Police Department was actively involved throughout the evening, visiting registered parties, sharing crime prevention tips, and engaging with residents in meaningful conversations. Officers participated in safety demonstrations, relationship building, and reinforcing their commitment to transparency and trust. Including special visits from city staff. A Model for Community Collaboration and Relationship Building: This year’s Night to Unite was a shining example of what can happen when housing, food security, and public safety come together. The partnership between Anthony James Apartments, Near Food Shelf, and the New Hope Police Department created a space where residents felt valued, supported, and empowered.

Looking Ahead: As New Hope continues to grow, events like Night to Unite remind us that community is built through collaboration and relationship building. Whether it’s through housing initiatives, food support, or public safety outreach, the connections made during this celebration will continue to strengthen the fabric of the city for years to come.
