Arbor Residents Step Up for Homeless Veterans and for Local Students

Our Arbors community has once again demonstrated remarkable compassion and generosity.  Our recent efforts have been making a meaningful impact on both homeless veterans in Ramsey County and students in the White Bear Lake area.

With a growing number of veterans in our county facing homelessness and urgently needing warm clothing, the Arbors veterans organized a community-wide clothing drive. The response from our residents was extraordinary. A significant amount of warm clothing was collected, and it was truly inspiring to see the community come together.

Because many homeless veterans do not seek assistance on their own, proactive outreach is essential. To help meet this need, the donated clothing was delivered to the Dorothy Day Center by Alex, our Ramsey County Veterans Affairs officers (https://www.ramseycountymn.gov/your-government/departments/veterans-services ). The center maintains a dedicated second floor for veterans, where they can access warm clothing, meals, limited lodging, and support from VA social workers.

For the veterans who rely on these services, the donations from The Arbors residents provide comfort, dignity, and a powerful reminder that they are not forgotten.

The Arbors’ generosity didn’t stop there. Residents also stepped up in support of the White Bear Lake Area Educational Foundation (https://www.wblaef.org/,) contributing $1,126.38 to the Angel Fund. These funds came directly from the success of our holiday market and from money donated through card and gift purchases.

The Angel Fund provides essential assistance to students facing financial hardships, ensuring they have access to basic needs and opportunities that support their well-being and academic success. Thanks to your contributions, more local students will receive the help they need.

The Arbors continues to shine as a kind, caring, and compassionate community that consistently rises to meet the needs of others.
