Cedarwood Recognized Kimberly, a New Resident!

Although we are still very much still in the thick of a pandemic, Cedarwood has never stopped trying to form a sense of community.  We want you to enjoy your neighbors, not just your living space.  One way we encourage this is by featuring a Resident Spotlight every month in our newsletter.  This month we introduced Kimberly who is just finishing up her first year at Cedarwood.

Resident Spotlight: Kimberly T

Kimberly was born just down the road from Cedarwood at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale and has lived in Brooklyn Center most of her life.  She graduated from Park Center High School in 1977.  After high school she worked numerous jobs including construction putting a whole room addition on her parent’s house.

Kimberly married her husband in 1983. It was on the 27th anniversary of her parents wedding and at the same church. The church was busy that day as her parent renewed their vows that same day!  A year later she gave birth to her first son, Terry. Two years later they welcomed their daughter, Leslieann. Unfortunately, it was only a few short years later she became widowed. She never remarried but the family still remains very close and often enjoys family meals together.

Kimberly has been driving a school bus for Lorenz Bus Service for over 15 years. The current pandemic has certainly changed her schedule but she has been working part time as a PCA, a passion she found she had while taking care of her dad through Parkinson’s disease until he required the need to live in a nursing home. Kimberly visited her dad every day. She is dedicated to the health and welfare of her friends, family, and clients.

To relax, Kimberly admits she likes to watch Hallmark movies.  She also likes to color and cook.  (Ask her about her Bonket recipe!)  Above all else, she enjoys being a proud mother.
