“Creative” Connecting at “The Crossings at Brookwood” During COVID-19!

Our residents are the “life” of our community.  So, when the COVID-19 stay-at-home rules began, everything stopped. Therefore, our staff discovered creative ways to keep our residents connected and engaged during the pandemic.   We started “Stay-At-Home Bingo!”   Residents received a bingo sheet each week with a new game on it for that week.  Bingo numbers were posted on the bulletin board and residents could call the office to get the numbers for the day.  Prizes were awarded for each bingo winner and delivered to their door!  This gave our residents something to look forward to each day with anticipation of getting the right numbers to get a prize. 

Food is something that brings everyone together.   We wanted to continue our Chat & Chowder lunches and found a creative way to do this with “Chat & Chowder Delivered to Your Door!”  Residents were thrilled that they could still get a nice lunch of soup, sandwich and cookie delivered to their door by staff.  We also continued our “special” meals like “Pizza at Your Door” and will be doing “Chili Dog Day”, “Root Beer Floats” and “Corn Roast.”
