Keeping the “Happy” in Thanksgiving

For most families around the country, this Thanksgiving holiday looked a lot different than those celebrated in the past. The usual noisy, overcrowded kitchens were replaced with quiet, smaller gatherings in order to ensure that we can all stay healthy and look forward to many more family festivities in the future.

Even though the day may have been different, the real meaning of Thanksgiving remained the same – being grateful for all that we have. And our Arbors neighbors have an abundance to be thankful for. Speaking with our residents prior to the holiday, we heard all about how each would spend their day, what they were cooking, and how they would be connecting with family by phone or virtually. Each person had a plan to keep the “Happy” in their Thanksgiving!

Our residents were treated to a surprise “happy” on their holiday morning, when staff delivered hot coffee, snacks, and a packet of Thanksgiving activities to each resident. On this day of thanks and every day, we are so grateful for our wonderful residents! Being able to connect for a brief moment and share Thanksgiving greetings warmed our hearts, and we hope made this very different holiday a bit more “happy” for everyone!
