The Anthony James picks potatoes!

The Anthony James residents took a wonderful trip south of the Twin Cities this past week to a Hastings Minnesota Potato Farm.

The Lang Nelson bus arrived at the farm and they were weighed in on a large truck scale to determine, as the owner of the farm shared, "how many potatoes they would leave with". The residents were thrilled with the thought of the weigh in and the opportunity to pick farm fresh potatoes right off the line.  Each of the residents then were welcomed with the full story about the potato growing process from the planting, to the harvesting, to the storage options.  After the potato tour, the residents were swept away to drive by and talk about the neighboring business, Alexis Bailly Vineyards.  Surprisingly, after the final weigh in, the residents left with a mere 40 lbs of potatoes.  I think it's time for a Potato Bar at the Anthony James on Broadway!  One of the residents shared, "I think this was the best trip we have had since we have been at Anthony James!"  The morning ended with a wonderful lunch at the Red Rock in Hastings.
