River Oaks Introduces the New Life Enrichment Director: Paula Frakes
My Name is Paula Frakes and I look forward to meeting all of you. I have lived in the Twin Cities metro now for around 30 years. I moved to Andover about 2 years ago from Coon Rapids where I had lived for about 10 years. I spend my youth with my parents and my younger sister in Cherokee, Iowa. I went to Luther College in Decorah, Iowa for my undergrad degree and moved up to the Twin City area after collage. I have worked in the senior housing industry as an activity professional for over 24 years in various communities. In 2010 I completed my Master’s degree in Gerontology from Bethel University in St. Paul. I am married and I have a female Golden Retriever dog, Bree who is just 15 months old. One of my passions in life is helping people of all ages to enjoy what I call Nature Based Activities for an active aging journey. I have an extensive background in Animal-Assisted Therapy & Activities, gardening and education about nature, especially as they apply to adults’ ages 65+. I enjoy going for walks with my dog, bird watching, traveling when possible, and spending time with friends and family.
