Join River Oaks for Their April Nature Presentations
What does it mean to ‘age with purpose & meaning’? Being open to accepting who we are now at this point in our life journey we can become aware of new opportunities to thrive and grow in our later years. At River Oaks we seek to assist our resident by offering activities that give both pleasure and purpose to life. One activity that is new and seeks to meet these goals is our monthly Nature presentations. Life Enrichment Director Paula Frakes, leads this class and introduces new topics each month. This past month we learned about native Minnesota wild birds by having an in house wild bird scavenger hunt and an in house presentation about wild birds. Several residents also delighted in our excursion the Eastman Nature Center where a naturalist did a presentation about local wild birds. This was a very special Nature experience for most of our residents and was very evident by their facial expressions and relaxed body posture. Nature experiences help to soothe our anxieties and increases our curiosity factor about the world right around us. We will continue on our nature adventures in April with our presentation on Trees on April 24 at 1:15PM in honor of Arbor Day. We will also be exploring the beautiful flower and plant exhibits at the Como Park Conservatory on April 27th for our excursion! Living life to its fullest is our motto and we enjoy giving it our best shot here at River Oaks!
