Lang Nelson Provides Updated Info About COVID Vaccines

Information surround COVID-19 is constantly updating. Within a week, large changes have taken place in the state of Minnesota. Below is information taken directly from the CDC website:

https://www.mn.gov/covid19/vaccine/find-vaccine/community-vaccination-program/index.jsp

“Minnesota is shipping more doses of COVID-19 vaccine to clinics and hospitals across the state specifically for those aged 65 and over. You can now connect directly with your local health care provider to schedule an appointment to get your vaccine. Use our new vaccine locator map to find a provider that’s convenient for you!

“Random selection for the COVID-19 Community Vaccination Program is also continuing. If you are selected this week, you will be able to get your vaccine at either our Minneapolis or Duluth community vaccination clinics. Those who received first doses at one of our pilot vaccination sites will receive their second doses at the same location, as previously scheduled. See below for further details.”

Eligibility

“People in the following groups are currently eligible to make appointments for the COVID-19 vaccine through the Community Vaccination Program: 1) Minnesotans aged 65 and over 2) Pre-K through grade 12 educators 3) Child care workers.”

A Note to Educators & Child Care Workers

“Please do not attempt to make an appointment unless you are notified by your employer that you’ve been selected to receive a vaccine. Child care programs and schools will work directly with employees to get an appointment through the state-sponsored appointment scheduling portal. Due to the limited supply of vaccine, schools will prioritize employees based on face-to-face interaction with children, and child care providers will use a random selection process.”

“While Minnesota is expanding those eligible for a vaccine, we continue to serve healthcare workers and certain congregate care residents and staff in Phase 1a. These people can still plan on receiving the vaccine through their workplace, care facility, or local public health.”
