Distinguished Young Women, formerly known as America’s Junior Miss, is a national non-profit organization that provides scholarship opportunities to high school senior girls. Young women are eligible during the summer preceding their senior year in high school. This program is designed to provide young women with the opportunity and support needed to succeed before, during, and after attending college.
Distinguished Young Women is a national scholarship program that inspires high school girls to develop their full, individual potential through a fun, transformative experience that culminates in a celebratory showcase of their accomplishments. The program has provided life-changing experiences for more than 700,000 young women and more than $93 million in cash scholarships has been awarded at the local, state and national levels combined. Distinguished Young Women strives to give every young woman the opportunity to further her education and prepare for a successful future.
On February 13th, The Rivers hosted the Distinguished Young Women’s participants who had the opportunity to entertain and visit with our residents. This is valuable to them as they go on to the local and national contest as they pursue the opportunity to win scholarship funds for their future. Below are just a few of the many young ladies that visited The Rivers gaining valuable experience and exposure.
