The Timbers hosted a Celebration Spring Tea and Fashion Show honoring all Mothers On Saturday, May 7, 2011.  Over 115 residents, family members and friends attended our celebration.   This was the inaugural event for The Timbers new Ida Marie Restaurant and our very own Chef Larry Anderson. There was food and fun for all!

Just what did the guests have to say? Just take a listen…

“How beautiful The Timbers is!”

“Oh my, did you try the Key Lime Tarts? They are wonderful!”

“I loved the chocolate covered strawberries ~ they were so sweet and juicy…”

“This has been absolutely lovely!”

“I hope this becomes an annual event!”

Good news:  this was our first annual Spring Tea and Fashion Show! We will be back next year with a bigger and better celebration. Join Dietitian Kari Stolz on June 14th at 2 pm
in the Ida Marie Restaurant when she elaborates on:

“The Wonders of Water”

Our body needs about 2 L (8 cups) of water a day to operate, which must be supplied through what we eat and drink during the day. Our bodies have no way of storing water, thus making it an “essential” nutrient in our diet. Water is lost from our body everyday through breathing, urine, sweating, and bowel movements. It’s important to remember that heat, humidity and exercise can increase our water loss through sweating, even if we may not be aware of it. Water is vital for almost every system in the body. Learn how to stay well-hydrated by consuming at least 8 cups of water a day.  We will review several simple tips to ensure your glass of water is either “half-empty” or “half-full.”
