Meridian Manor is celebrating spring with an Afternoon Tea and Fashion Show on Wednesday, April 27th at 3:00 p.m.  Six of our lovely female residents will be modeling clothes by Alfred Dunner and will be escorted down the runway by six of our equally handsome male residents.  Our chef is preparing traditional and exquisite afternoon tea fare such as homemade scones with clotted cream and jam, four varieties of delectable tea sandwiches and of course delightful sweets to complete the offerings.  We will also be pouring a variety of teas to accompany the menu.  The setting will be elegant, with individual china patterns and magnificent flower arrangements.  All the beautiful clothing you see modeled will be available for sale after the show.  If you would like to join us for tea and the fashion show, please make reservations at 952-473-3200, but hurry, seating is limited.

While our weather is not cooperating the best we did manage to get a few days of sunshine last week and officially turned on our water fountain, in doing so we have seen a return of our wildlife, geese and ducks, and hoping that is a sign that spring will some day be approaching.

On Monday (April 25th ) We will be hosting our Ladies coffee Clutch, with good conversations, hot coffee, and warm pastries for all those interested in the happenings of the Waterford Community.

On Tuesday (April 26th) Our tour bus will taking residents to the area grocery stores, these tours are offered as part of our commitment to a quality living environment at the Waterford.

On Wednesday (April 27th) Our Men’s group will be meeting in the private dining room.  This is a support group that has been formed and run by the male members or our community.

We will be celebrating all of our April Birthdays this month on the 30th, with cake and Ice Cream for all at our Ida Maria Restaurant.

Earle Brown Terrace is going to be a lively place over the next few weeks. Join Us!

Things start happening April 14th with live entertainment by Mr. David Allen, who brings the old standards to life with his vocal styling and stage presence.  He brings Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett and others to mind as he gets down on one knee to sing those great old love songs.  David starts his show at 1:30 p.m. in our dining area and it is free and open to the public.

Later in the month on April 28th we host our monthly “Soup Tasting” event.  It is also free and open to the public.  We offer a variety of homemade soups, and salads from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on that Thursday.  This is our way of giving back to the community and fostering a spirit of togetherness with our neighbors and friends.  Join us for a great lunch.  Call 763-560-6829 for more information and to reserve a spot.

The month is capped off with our annual Senior Prom on April 29th at 6:30 p.m.  This event is also free and open to all.  Since this is the date that Prince William and his finance Kate get married, we have made our theme, “A Royal Wedding Reception”.   Pictures of our residents at their weddings will be flashed up on our big screen projection TV during this event that will include great music of the 30’s to the 60’s, dancing, and refreshments.  On this day we crown the King and Queen of our residence along with their court.  Family and friends are most encouraged to come.

There is always something interesting happening at Earle Brown Terrace! We have educational events, a Sing-a-long/Ice Cream Social, Book Clubs and more.  Call us Today for more events and information at 763-560-6829.

Please join us for The Eighth Annual Treasure Show at The Pines Senior and Assisted Living in Richfield, MN. The Pines families dig through closets and boxes of treasures from the past to prepare a display that represents the life of their loved one.  Bouquet Day on Wednesday, April 13 between 3:00 and 6:00 PM the displays will be open to the public. In the past we have had Steve Lindgren, President of the Richfield Chamber of Commerce come to see the gallery of displays.  We also have seen friends from the Richfield Community Center, as well as employees from our neighbors M&I Bank and the Woodlake Clinic among our visitors. At 6:00 PM that day, the staff will dismantle the displays and return items to the residents.  It is a bittersweet moment as we dismantle the lobby, but the joy of sharing the lives of our residents lingers in the friendships at The Pines. Please join us to enjoy our residents as well as cookies, coffee and flowers every week on Bouquet Day.  Most importantly, plan to join us on the 13th of April between 3:00 and 6:00 to see this incredible gallery depicting the lives of our residents.

The Pines is located at 400 West 67th Street (behind McDonalds at 67th and Lyndale) in Richfield, MN.
Please call 612-861-3331 for more information about this special event.
