A musical comedy

“With music stolen er’ ADAPTED from numerous sources.”  “Belles of the West” takes place in the ‘Sage Brush Saloon’ in Dodge City, Kansas, in 1870.  Wanting to drum up business, the owner of the establishment hatches a hare brain scheme that will tickle audiences’ funny bones.  Packed with classic old west characters, music and some of the worst puns this side of the Pacos.  Hold onto your ten gallon hats!  Its like watching a Carol Burnett show only live.  The whole family will love it!

This group performs at senior residences and other venues all over the state free of charge. We’d love to have you come and check them out.

The Blanket Ladies of The Heathers Estates began in our community room with six women nearly 10 years ago, and has gradually increased to twelve this year working on their own time, plus an hour every Wednesday afternoon.

Between September 2009 and May 2010, the Blanket Ladies group delivered 288 baby blankets and 164 stocking caps to five local agencies: Robbinsdale Women’s Center, Metro Women’s Center in New Hope, St. Vincent’s and the Jeremiah program, and the Minnetonka Life Center.

Shockingly, in the three months September to November this year, they have already delivered 108 blankets and 44 caps to these five organizations. In the next 5 months, November 2010 till March 2011, they expect to create another 240 receiving size blankets. Most recently, they have a request for crib-size blankets and are working on the logistics for this project.

Their income is generated from Lions and Kiwanis Club generous donations, resident birthday cards, a flea market, outside sales of blankets and caps, as well as personal donations of fabric and yarns.A truly amazing group of women working for the betterment of homeless and low income women and the children who need the warmth that comes from the Blanket Ladies hands and hearts.
